In 1998, she patented and invented the “Push-Pipe: The UE Stroke Apparatus,” a therapeutic tool created to improve functional outcomes for adults with hemiplegia.
As a leader in the field, she has delivered numerous professional continuing education courses for educators and clinicians. Her teachings span a wide range of topics, including Autism understanding and treatment advancement, sensory processing, fine motor and handwriting development, neurodiversity, and the integration of massage techniques into therapeutic interventions.
Dr. Walker-Dumas earned both her Master’s degree and Occupational Therapy Doctorate from Mount Mary University.
